After a meeting of the association in Mumbai on Sunday, an IMA spokesperson told reporters that the state government should set up a judicial probe into the incident as the police enquiry ordered by it was not enough.

"The government should ask the judicial probe panel to submit its report within 48 hours," the spokesperson said.

IMA will organise a protest march from Azad Maidan to Mantralaya on Monday to protest the baton charge by police against the students, the spokesperson said.

"It is surprising that no statement has come from either the President, Prime Minister, Chief Minister or state Health minister to protest the brutal lathicharge," the spokesperson said.
