While hearing a petition filed by one of the property holders of IMT on Monday, high court justice Ajay Kumar Mittal said that HSIIDC had sought three weeks’ time to file its reply.

In the meantime, HSIIDC undertook not to take any coercive action against the plaintiff till April 21. The court delivered the judgement on the petition filed by Assem Takyar, an industrialist of IMT, Manesar.

Over 1000 factory owners in IMT had been served notices of steep land enhancement charges early last year. Already reeling under the meltdown effect, these aggrieved owners had decided to move court against the decision of the HSIIDC that has demanded Rs 39 lakh per acre as against Rs 10 lakh that had actually been paid to farmers as enhanced cost of land by HSIIDC.
