India: Actress joins BJP

Adding to the growing list of women who have joined the BJP is Tamil and Telugu filmstar Pallavi.

BJP, which has been attracting people from the celluloid world all over the country, today had yet another new arrival, when well known film and TV artiste Pallavi joined the BJP in the presence of BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu here.

Pallavi, who had a made a mark in Tamil and Telugu films, would campaign for the BJP in the Lok Sabha polls, Venkaiah Naidu told reporters.

Pallavi was escorted to the party by Vijayashanti, well known actress and a leader of the party's women's wing.
