India, Belarus discuss terror, bilateral ties

Belarus Interior Minister Vladimir Naumov and Home Minister Shivraj Patil express desire to boost relations.

India and Belarus on Monday discussed various issues, including those related to security and terrorism, and expressed the desire to further strengthen bilateral relations.

At a 45-minute meeting between visiting Belarus Interior Minister Vladimir Naumov and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, they expressed satisfaction over the current level of understanding between the two countries.

Patil informed the visiting minister that India has suffered a lot due to terrorism, but has been able to contain the menance.

The Home Minister expressed satisfaction over the fact that there was growing international realisation about the need to contain terrorism.

Patil, who briefed Naumov about the working of his minsitry, accepted an invitation to visit Belarus.
