The External Affairs Ministry has given approval to the Indian cricket team to play in Bangladesh after assessing security arrangements following alleged Islamist death threats, an official said on Tuesday.

"We have cleared the team's visit after receiving the report of our team," foreign office spokesman Navtej Sarna announced.
The security team in Bangladesh has cleared Dhaka as a venue but has yet to clear proposed matches in Chittagong.
India are due to play the first Test in Dhaka on Thursday followed by the second and final Test match in Chittagong from December 16.
The Test series is scheduled to be be followed by three one-dayers.
The first one-dayer is to be played in Chittagong and the last two in Dhaka.
