India has a clear chance of claiming the second spot in the LG ICC Test rankings if they win the upcoming three-Test series against Pakistan.

India has never been higher than its current third place in the official Test rankings since it was launched in May 2001 but a 2-0 win would be enough to see it displace England from second place, according to an ICC release on Friday.
In case of 1-0 win, India would be at level with England and on 110 points but would be behind when calculated to three decimal places.
Pakistan, who are currently fifth in ranking, can reclaim third spot if they win 2-0 or 3-0 and if they lose they will slip down to sixth place below South Africa.
If the two teams draw the series, India's rating points will drop while Pakistan's will improve, the positions will remain unchanged though.
