India surpassed West Indies' 21-year-old record of 14 consecutive victories when chasing a target.
West Indies had made this record between 1984-85 and 1986-87 when they were at the peak of their cricketing glory.
The last time India had lost a match while chasing was against New Zealand at Bulawayo in August last year.
The new record speaks volumes about the growing resilience of the Indian team under a new team management led by skipper Rahul Dravid and coach Greg Chappell.
