"The Ministry of Shipping has approached Interpol to provide us with any vital link that would be helpful to trace the ship and the missing crew. Their response is awaited," DG Shipping said in a statement.

MV Rezzak with 25 Indians on board left Russia on a 24-hour journey to Turkey on February 17.

The vessel, carrying steel billets, went missing near the coast of Turkey on February 18 and there was no distress signal from the ship.

After a few days Turkey discontinued the search and rescue operation. India sent an officer to observe the investigation by Panama where the ship was registered.

The officer has come back and he is collating the available data.

"The officer is in the process of collating the available data to reach at reasonable conclusion based on the documentary evidences provided by various agencies that led to this shipping casualty," the statement added.
