India Studies Centre in Mongolia

An India Studies Centre has been set up in Mongolia under the Mongolian Academy of Sciences.

An India Studies Centre has been established under the International Studies Institutes of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences here.

The Centre's Administrative Council consists of 25 members. Dr O Nyamdavaa and Dr Ch Dashpurev have been elected as the Centre Head and Deputy Head, respectively.

The Centre will provide information on achievements in the history, culture, arts, communication, information technology and biotechnology sectors of India, which has 2500-3000 years of historic ties with Mongolia, living conditions and civilization of more than 30 million Mongoloid people in India.

The Centre will focus its activity on chipping in to the expansion of the cooperation between Mongolia and India, offering advice to the people, who have an interest to promote the bilateral collaboration and drawing up a proposal to the extension of the bilateral relations.

The Indian Ambassador to Mongolia Yo Warma wished a high success to the newly founded Centre's activity and expressed readiness to render comprehensive support.
