Laura, a fabulous cook, is well known among US cooks for her Smoked Shrimp's, Mango Salsa, Carrot Muffins, Cowboy Cookies..., the list is endless.
The recipes are put on the White House official website. Her personal favourite and most popular recipe is Hot Cocoa.
There is also some advice for those trying them: "Remember that cooking can be even duller than childrearing," or "any chore can be turned into fun with the right prescription."
According to an article published in an American daily, the cookbooks are a favourite of First Lady.
The article states, "Laura Bush has a large collection of cookbooks that she dips into just for the pleasure of reading them. But when it's time to cook, she reaches for the tried and true."
"My mother told me that the best way to hold on to a Texas man is to be an expert chef," she is quoted as saying in the First Lady's Recipe Box section.
