Indian Oil, BPCL score big wins to enter final

Indian Oil thrashed ONGC 'A' 5-0, after leading 3-0 at half time in their concluding league match while BPCL scored a 3-1 victory over ONGC 'B' in concluding league matches held on Thursday at the Mahindra Stadium.

Indian Oil completely dominated the proceedings against their rivals. After international Sardara Singh put them 1-0 up in the 7th minute through a field goal, another India star Deepak Thakur showed good opportunism to convert two penalty corners in the 10th and 32nd minutes.

After the change of ends, Indian Oil made it 4-0 through a field effort by Inderjit Chanda before drag-flick expert Raghunath completed the tally off yet another penalty corner award in the 61st minute.

In the other tie, BPCL were 3-0 up in the opening half through goals from Gurpreet Singh (11th minute), international Tushar Khandekar (23rd) and S S Gill (27th).

In the second half, ONGC 'B' got a consolation goal, a field effort, through Mohd Nasir in the 47th minute.
