The species of Indian Saras was no the verge of extinction like happened with the Siberian crane visiting from Siberia, the Ghana Keoladeo Nature History Society, an NGO said in its census report prepared with the help of State Forest Department here.

It said only 39 saras were found including 14 in KNP in Bharatpur district.

KNP's fauna could only be revived if proper water supply be maintained from the Panchana dam, a natural water resevoir in the vicinity, its secretary Krishna Kumar said.
