'Indians opt for safe sex'
The Durex survey revealed that just one in five Indians admitted to having unprotected sex without knowing partner's sexual history.
The 2004 Durex Global Sex Survey has revealed that Indians were 'top of the league' when it came to good sexual health in the bedroom, with just one in five admitting to having unprotected sex without knowing their partner's sexual history.

This compares to almost two-thirds of Danes and Swedes (64 per cent), 'who play Russian Roulette when it comes to their sexual health,' a press release from Durex said in Chennai.
This online survey, which questioned more than 3.5 lakh people in 41 nations, said that the average number of sexual partners Indians had was 3.7, compared to the global average of 10.5. The Chinese led the way, with an average of 19.3 partners.
It also revealed that Indians had just 82 sessions a year, compared to the global average of 103, but were still far more sexually active than those in Singapore and Hong Kong (both 79) and way ahead of the Japanese (46).
The French topped the poll, having sex on an average of 137 times a year.
When it comes to foreplay, the average time spent by Indians was 19.3 minutes, way above most Asian nations, including Thailand, which only manages 11.5 minutes, it said.
Indians lost their virginity later than most at an average age of 19. This was more than three years later than Iceland (15.7) and almost two years above the global average (17.7).
On sex education, the survey said that Indians received it later in life than most nationalities. On average it was at 15 years of age, almost two years than the rest of the world (13.1).
To spice up their love lives, Indians turn to pornography, with 34 per cent admitting to watching it with their partners. Pleasure enhancing condoms were also a favourite with more than one in four Indians (27 per cent), it said.
