Congress MLA Raghvaji Patel had asked about the number of industrial accident deaths reported in the two districts in 2008.
In a written reply, the state government said that three persons were killed in Jamnagar, while 29 were killed in Kutch last year.
In Jamnagar, Rs 1.37 lakh compensation was paid to kins of two persons who died, while in Kutch, Rs 79.17 lakh has been paid to the relatives of 18 people, who were killed in the accidents, the government stated.
Moreover, compensation to the families of the remaining victims would be paid after the process is over.
The government authorities have also filed cases for the accidents against 15 industrial units in Kutch and two units in Jamnagar.
The local court in Jamnagar has also imposed fine of Rs 12,000 each on two units for neglecting safety of workers, the Gujarat government said.
