Inflation up at 4.72%

Inflation rose to 4.72 per cent during the week ended June 3 against 4.68 per cent in the previous week.

Inflation rose to 4.72 per cent during the week ended June 3 against 4.68 per cent in the previous week due to higher prices of fruits, vegetables and some manufactured products.

The inflation stood at 4.39 per cent during the corresponding week of the previous year. The official data on inflation released on Friday, did not factor in increase in prices of petrol and diesel announced on June 5.
