The walk-in interviews for recruitment of doctors in Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and Lady Harding Hospital which were slated for Thursday were cancelled as the government is planning to take strong action to remove striking medicos from the AIIMS premises.
The situation arising out of the ongoing medicos strike was discussed today at a meeting between Medical Superintendents of various Union Government-run hospitals and Health Secretary PK Hota, sources said.
Hota later had a meeting with Cabinet Secretary, they said.
The walk-in interviews for recruitment of doctors in RML and Lady Harding hospitals were cancelled.
Interviews for recruitment of doctors in Safdarjung hospital were cancelled on Wednesday while interviews are slated for next Monday in AIIMS.
Hota said that he asked the medical superintendents to protect the interests of all students.
Sources said that government was planning to take a strong action to remove striking medicos from the AIIMS premises.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Medical Asociation organised a dharna at AIIMS between 11 am and 5 pm.
About 1,000 dcotors visited the dharna venue, Dr KK Kapoor, president of DMA, said.
