Jaiswal visits ALMCO

THE UNION Minister of State for Home SP Jaiswal appreciated the efforts of the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALMCO) made in the field manufacturing aids and appliances for orthopaedically handicapped, visually and hearing impaired including a folding stretcher developed with collaboration of DRDO.

THE UNION Minister of State for Home SP Jaiswal appreciated the efforts of the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALMCO) made in the field manufacturing aids and appliances for orthopaedically handicapped, visually and hearing impaired including a folding stretcher developed with collaboration of DRDO.

Jaiswal visited the ALMCO and inspected the manufacturing process at the institution, which had been working in the field of producing the artificial limbs here on Saturday.

Chairman-cum-managing director AK Bhattacharya apprised the achievement made by ALMCO and also briefed about the progress made in field of export their manufactured goods.

Bhattacharya said that all over country the product made by ALMCO were getting regular demands. He said that 1000 limbs were distributed by the President of India during his visit in Tanzania to landmine victims produced by ALMCO.

Jaiswal also distributed artificial limbs to few disabled persons under the ADIP scheme of Government of India. Prominent among those present on the occasion included BK Mishra, SK Saxena, Ramawadh Yadav and Sompal Singh.
