They demand reservation for the community in government jobs under the other backward class (OBC) category. “If something happens to protesters, the responsibility will lie with the Haryana government,” Ram Bhagat Malik, spokesperson for the Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti, Haryana, said on Sunday. He said the samiti national president, Yash Pal Malik, will visit Mayyar on Monday.
Among the people sitting on fast includes a woman, Lashshmi Sangwan, 36, from Dadri. “I am ready to sacrifice my life for the demand,” she said.
The condition of Kitab Singh, 66, and Ram Sarup, 60, worsened and medical help was offered.
The samiti has threatened to cut off supply lines to New Delhi from March 15 if their demand is not accepted.
