Jawan commits suicide in JK

A jawan allegedly commits suicide by shooting himself with his service weapon in Rajouri district of J&K, says a defence spokesman.

A jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service weapon in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesman in Jammu said Friday.

Sepoy GL Rao of Maratha Light Infantry who was deployed in Forward Peer Bhadesar area in Nowshera sector of, shot himself with his service weapon yesterday, he said adding the jawan died on the spot.

His body was sent for postmortem.

The Army has ordered a Court of Inquiry into the incident, the spokesman added.
