Jawan kills two CRPF personnel, injures two others

A CRPF jawan allegedly in an inebriated state opened fire on his colleagues, killing two of them and injuring an equal number inside a camp in Kokernag.

Halvadar Ramesh Chander went berserk and opened indiscriminate fire killing Halvaders Tufil Ahmad Khan and A Tiwari last night in the camp of 164 CRPF battalion stationed at Anantnag district, 80 kms from here, a CRPF spokesman said today.

Two others were also injured in the firing.

The injured personnel were rushed to army base hospital in Srinagar where their condition is stated to be out of danger.

The two victims hailed from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

Havaldar Ramesh Chander, a resident of Haryana, was later arrested by the police and a case has been registered against him.
