Jawed?s style, booked for good
Hair stylist Jawed Habib?s book, Hair Colour And Style, was launched at Lizard Lounge, South Extension.
There were probably more hacks and shutterbugs than guests, at the official launch of hair-stylist Jawed Habib’s book on Wednesday evening.

Jawed attributed the turn-out to “pyaar”, adding: “I’ve been in the business for very long, and have made loads of friends. They have been kind enough to come on my special day.”
Jawed’s book, Hair Colour And Style, was launched at Lizard Lounge, South Extension. Neeraj Saraf, the pub’s young owner from London who has an American accent, explained: “The name of the pub comes from the expression ‘lounge lizards’.” Great idea, only — will half the city’s partying crowd understand it? Perhaps, the name is a reason why Lizard Lounge has failed to become the hot-spot that it should have.

The wigs and semi-permanent hair colours that were handed out to guests at the entrance by Jawed’s trusted aide Rekha was a nice touch. We spotted the publisher of the book, Wisdom Tree’s Editor-in-Chief Alka Raghuvanshi, in Goldilocks curls, theatre person Vinod Nagpal in an orange wig and HT cartoonist Sudhir Tailang in a curly mop. Said Raghuvanshi: “The book is doing rather well in the stores.”
It should, we realised, on flipping through its pages. It is in an easy-to-read format with illustrations. “The book has everything you’ve ever wanted to know about your hair. From colours to cuts, it will help the readers decide what looks best on them,” said Jawed.
Also present: Jawed’s visibly proud dad, Habib Ahmed, brother Amjad with wife Sanam, and model Monikangkana Dutta, who seemed slightly out of place for some reason.
