JeM terrorist killed in J&K encounter

An AK-56 assault rifle, two magazines, 40 rounds and two hand grenades were recovered from the slain terrorist.

A suspected terrorist of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad was killed in an encounter in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, police said in Jammu.

On a tip-off, security forces launched an operation in Marwah area of the district in the morning and shot dead a suspected terrorist of JeM, identified as Javed Ahmed alias Atish, in an ensuing encounter, they said.

An AK-56 assault rifle, two magazines, 40 rounds and two hand grenades were recovered from the slain terrorist, they said adding that Ahmed had been active in terrorism in Marwah since 2002.
