IN A bizarre incident, a teenager shot himself at his shop in Thakurganj on Monday after his beloved allegedly turned down his marriage proposal.

Two copies scribbled with reason behind his taking the extreme step extreme step and references of his two-and-half-year-old love affair were found from the place of the incident.

A .315 bore country-made firearm used to commit suicide was also recovered from the place.

It was around 3.25 pm when neighbours heard a gunshot from nearby Hari Kishan Gupta’s general merchant shop at Garhi Peer Khan locality. They all rushed to the place to find Gupta’s son Vikas alias Vicky lying dead with blood oozing out from his head.

The local residents immediately informed Gupta about the incident. Gupta and other family members rushed to the shop and informed the police. Vicky hadsustained bullet injury in his temple causing his death on the spot.

While Gupta feigned ignorance about the motive behind his son’s suicide, the cops recovered two copies lying close to Vicky’s body. Both the copies contained details about Vicky’s love affair with a girl of the same locality. The boy had scribbled recent discussions between him and the girl.

Majority of the contents in both the copies indicated that the boy was disheartened by a sudden change of stance by the girl towards him. The boy was discontented as the girl had denied the proposal for the marriage recently.

The contents also indicated that besides denying for the marriage the girl had also started ‘harassing’ the boy by showing indifference towards him for last few days.

The girl forced the boy to take the extreme step by saying that she was pretending to love him merely for his money and that it was not a true affection from her side.

Before concluding the second last paragraph, the boy stated that he was finding it unable to cope with the attitude of the girl and he find no reason to stay alive when the girl he loves too much left him in the lurch. The concluding sentence by the boy addressed to the girl was, “marne ke baad main tumhe bahut yaad aonga.”
