Akshay Kumar will soon be heard singing Jingle Bells in Punjabi. The words, not surprisingly, go Jingle balle, jingle balle... The actor has shot special promos for his forthcoming Namastey London that will hit television screens this Christmas season.

“The moment Vipul Shah narrated the concept to me, I was game for it,” says Kumar. “I have tried singing the Christmas song in Punjabi and it went off quite well.” Since he was short on time, but because he liked the concept so much, Kumar made time to shoot for the promo from 5 am.

“I don’t think Katrina (Kaif) has ever got up at this early” smiled Kumar speaking of his co-star. We hear the promo is about a Punjabi guy trying to woo a girl who is born and brought up in England. He is in love with the girl and wants her but he won’t change his identity or style for it.

The stylised promos will also have special effects and animation elements in it. Namastey London is Vipul Shah’s ambitious Indo-British venture and is reportedly a remake of the classic Purab Aur Paschim.

Besides Kumar and Kaif, the film also stars Rishi Kapoor, Upen Patel and British actors. The film has been shot in London, Punjab and Mumbai.
