According to reports, the party workers and sarpanches led by JKNPP youth leader Parshotam Singh staged dharna outside the tehsildar office at Majalta and urged the administration to release the first installment of relief material, including ration, blankets, medicines and fuel for the flood victims.

Speaking on the occasion, sarpanch Raj Kumar Sharma of Bharnara village demanded an immediate relief for the people affected by the recent flashfloods and landslides in Majalta tehsil. He alleged that the administration has failed to act on time to provide relief to the affected people, particularly in the hilly areas.
