JNKVV convocation to be organised today

GOVERNOR AND Chancellor of the State’s universities Dr. Balram Jakhar would preside over the Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya’s eighth convocation here on January 9.

Padmabhushan Dr. R S Paroda would deliver the key convocation address. The varsity would award the meritorious students of academic session 2001-2002 – eight gold medals and two cash awards, 2002-2003 - nine gold medals and two cash awards, 2003-2004 – 11 gold medals and three cash awards, 2004-2005- 11 gold medals and three cash awards. Besides PhD degrees would also be awarded to eight research scholars.

While talking to the presspersons, the JNKVV Vice Chancellor Dr. D. P. Singh today said soon the agriculture, veterinary and agriculture engineering colleges spread across the State would be linked by a computer network with the video conferencing facility for college teachers to interact with the senior professors and administrative officers posted in the headquarters at Jabalpur.

He said the varsity is planning to provide training on seed production to some 50,000 farmers living in adjoining areas each of 30 Krishi Vigyan Kendras functioning in 11 agro-climatic zones of the State to make them self-reliant.
