"The mechanism would serve the interests of both India and Pakistan," Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri said in an interview to BBC Radio.
He said not only India, but Pakistan also was a victim of terrorism, adding "it is in our interest to have cooperation of some other countries including India".
The joint anti-terror mechanism was agreed during the recent meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Pervez Musharraf at Havana, Cuba in the sidelines of Non-Aligned Movement summit.
Kasuri said that after the July 11 Mumbai serial train blasts, Pakistan had offered to cooperate in the investigation if a lead was provided.
Noting that Pakistan had cooperated in the arrests of people in connection with the alleged terror plot to bomb passenger jets going from London to US cities, Kasuri said similar cooperation can also be extended to India.
