According to the sources, 'Capt' Chuanga and 'Lt' Yanger Ao were taken into custody by the NSCN (IM) the day after the incident and were later taken to the outfit's Council Headquarters at Camp Hebron, Munglamukh where they were being interrogated. Reports in local dailies have also claimed that the two have confessed to having shot at the scribe in an inebriated condition and that the attack was not pre-meditated. Leaders of the NSCN (IM) leaders were however not available for comments, the reports said.

The police meanwhile have also identified the attackers and they would be asked to surrender, sources said. The victim is making steady progress at Oking Hospital where he is recuperating.
