There is something about a Test in Chepauk that sets the adrenaline flowing. I don't remember a single dull Test being played at this traditional venue, where I played a lot of my cricket. Then again, it's been a long, long time since India and Australia have played out anything that can be remotely boring. Two interesting teams at an interesting venue, surely cricket fans cannot ask for more.

Actually, they will be asking for more of the Indian team and I am quite confident they will get to see a better showing. One bad afternoon with the bat cost the Indians dear at Bangalore and if the mistakes there are not repeated, the Aussies will have a real fight on their hands.
The good part of the pitch at the Chidambaram Stadium is that the ball invariably comes on. It does not die on the batsmen and for people such as Laxman and Sehwag, this could just be what the doctor ordered. Laxman, along with Dravid, is the big innings player and I feel it is imperative for him to succeed if India are to do better.
