The Governor has, however, not given any assurance on the Chief Minister's request, the sources said.

Singh's request came during a meeting he had with the Governor after the JD(S) faction led by HD Kumaraswamy informed Chaturvedi of their decision to withdraw support to the Congress-JD(S) coalition government.
