Additional City Magistrate, SN Pathak delivered the message it to son of shehnai maestro, Mehtab Hussian.
In his condolence message addressed to Mehtab Hussain, the President said, “Ustad Bismillah Khan's passing away, indeed, marks the end of an era in Shehnai music.
He was a rare jewel and musician, who comes only once in life time.
“His name and his melodious tunes were a household name throughout the country and brought happiness all around. Everyday, Bismillah's music enters in to me and brings peace and gladness.
“I convey my best felt condolence to you and members of your family. I pray to God to strengthen you all to bear this irreparable loss,” the message added.
The Janata Dal (United) President, Sharad Yadav and president of Apna Dal Dr Sone Lal Patel, together visited the house of Khan Saheb, offered floral tributes and consoled the bereaved family members.
He said the demise of Shehnai maestro was an irreparable loss to the society, who throughout his life worked for communal harmony.
Meanwhile, the family members of departed Bharat Ratna went to Fatman graveyard on Tuesday morning and performed ' 'Navekhan'.
Ali Haider, nephew of late Bismillah Khan said that 'Teeja' of the shehnai maestro would be held on Thursday.
