Campaigning here has begun early in an interesting battle, former Union Minister Shanta Kumar is pitted against State Forest Minister Chander Kumar.

This is spread over 13 assembly segments in Kangra district and four in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. OBC voters, constituting about 25 per cent of the electorate, are the deciding factor here.

With both the Congress and the BJP having announced candidates for the seat, campaigning has begun early. In an interesting battle, former Union Minister Shanta Kumar is pitted against State Forest Minister Chander Kumar.

Polling will take place only on May 10.

Mr Shanta Kumar has won three times from here. He is confident that the people of Kangra will re-elect him to the Lok Sabha this time also.
