Katiyar, Mishra file nominations for RS

BJP General Secretary Vinay Katiyar and senior party leader and in-charge of Rajasthan Kalraj Mishra on Thursday filed their nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha polls from Uttar Pradesh.
BJP state general secretary Ramapati Ram Tripathi, Ram Naresh Rawat and Ashok Dhavan also filed their nomination papers for the Legislative Council polls.
BJP has 87 members in the Vidhan Sabha.
Each candidate for Rajya Sabha required 37 first preference votes to sail through while the number of first preference votes required for victory in the council was 29.
