The administrator met the members of the Sector 29 Market Welfare Association. In the meeting, he told them to plan on their own how to beautify the market’s pathways, parking, pedestrian walkways and greenery etc.

Puneet Khanna, an architect and consultant for the association, made a presentation at the meeting.

Kumar appreciated the effort made by the association members and suggested some changes.

“It was a good design and I have suggested some changes so as the natural look of the market does not get distorted,” he said.

“The market is located at the heart of the Millennium City.

We want you to develop this area on your own and we will cooperate in your efforts,” said the administrator.

If the proposed plan is approved, then the market will have enhanced pedestrian environment with well-lit, safe streets, providing

strategic pedestrian and cycle connections from both the Iffco Chowk and Huda City Centre Metro Stations.

Visitors to the market would have other transport modes such as cycles for short distance destinations.

“We are happy with the efforts being made by the administrator. We are hopeful that we can change the face of the market,” said Narender Arora, president of the association.
