"The credit for this goes to HT and other media that took up the issue so prominently," said Jharkhand director general of police (DGP) Rajiv Kumar .

Of the eight children and two adults abducted by the rebels, everyone returned home except 10-year-old Pardeshi Lohra, who died in an explosion during a Maoist training session, four days after he was kidnapped.

Latehar SP Michael Raj said, “The children are in a state of shock. They are unable to narrate the order of events.”
