Over 500 schoolchildren of Commercial Primary School one of the best and oldest schools of Old Delhi have taken up cudgels against the owner of the school. The owner, a builder, wants to raze down this 80-year-old school and erect a commercial complex on the land.
The problem started when the school’s new trustees took charge. The students along with the school staff demonstrated in front of the MCD commissioner’s office to highlight their plight.
Though nothing has been finalised, the school is likely to be moved to the first floor of a new building in the same complex that is unauthorised. All the children will not only be crammed onto one floor.
