Unhappy with progress made by the police, family and friends of IT executive Munish Dutta, who went missing on Saturday, have taken the task upon themselves. They have formed their own team to locate Dutta.
Apart from posters put up along all major roads, they have also procured Munish’s mobile phone record before the police could access it. “We are not happy with the way the police are dealing with the case. So, we have made our own workforce,” said Rajnish Dutta, Munish’s brother.
The 40-member team, including family friends and well wishers, has been talking to auto drivers. They have already pasted more than 25,000 posters from Rajiv Chowk to Badshahpur with Munish’s photograph along with advertisements on local cable channels.
On the other hand, Inderjeet Singh, SHO of the Sadar police station, said that anyone who files a missing person report tries to find the victim too. “It is not a matter of distrust as these are efforts put in by family members. We are also investigating and have followed all Supreme Court guidelines, from advertising on Doordarshan to sending SMSes,” he said.
