Kisan Mela held to boost cocoon production
In order to give a boost to cocoon production in Udhampur, the sericulture department organised a Kisan Mela under the centrally sponsored scheme catalytic development programme at panchayat ghar of Dehari village in Ramnagar tehsil on Friday.

Chief guest Harsh Dev Singh, MLA, Ramnagar, inaugurated the mela attended by more than 300 sericulture farmers from Ramnagar, Majalta and Dudu block.
Singh appreciated the efforts of the department for generating awareness among the people by holding such melas. He said that the convergence of the all the stake holders under one umbrella would act as platform to work out the future course of action for increasing the production, and protection of farming community.
He called upon the farmers to avail maximum benefits through schemes of various departments projected in the mela which would mainly be designed for uplifting their socio-economic status.
