Two died in separate incidents - collapse of a balcony and a bus shelter - due to heavy rain in Kolkata on Tuesday.

A 70-year-old woman, Kamala Chattopadhyay, died when a balcony on the second floor of a building in Dhakuria, south Kolkata, collapsed on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
In the same area, a 50-year-old woman, whose identity is not known yet, was badly injured when a balcony in a four-decades-old residential building collapsed. She is being treated at a private hospital.
Two fire tenders, disaster management teams, police force were involved in the rescue operation as a few more were feared trapped inside the rubble.
In another incident, an unidentified person, died, when a section of a bus stop’s roof on Tospia Road in the Tiljala area, collapsed, a senior Kolkata Police officer said.
The roof collapsed at around 5.40 pm during heavy rain. When taken to a nearby hospital, he was declared dead on arrival, the officer said.
