The Mahasabha also demanded to declare Rana a ‘patriot’ for bringing back the ashes of Prithivraj Chauhan from his grave in Afghanistan.

At the meeting, the Kshatriyas expressed their anger over wrong representation of Kshatriyas warriors and kings in the textbooks. They said wrong portrayal of Prithviraj Chauhan and Maharana Pratap in the NCERT textbooks would not be tolerated.

A resolution for release of Rana and his recognition as a great patriot was passed at the ‘Vrihada Kshatriya Sammelan’ held at Ravindralaya on Saturday.

On the occasion the Kshatriya Samaj also collected Rs 20,000 for the family of Rana and also honoured his mother.

Addressing the gathering, Mahasabha national president Kunwar Harivansh Singh described Rana a great patriot. He also said that the Kshatriya community in UP and other states would decide the future course of action at their ‘Hunkar rally’ in October.

President of the UP Kshatriya Mahasabha Kunwar Devendra Singh also called upon the Kshatriyas to fight for the release of Rana.

Office-bearers of the Mahasabha along with a number of former and present MPs and MLAs were present on the occasion.
