Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble is expected to return from a shoulder injury for the opening match of the best-of-three tri-series cricket final against Australia on Friday in Melbourne.
An Indian team spokesman confirmed on Wednesday that Kumble will be available for the first final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The veteran has not played since his side's 24-run victory over Zimbabwe in Brisbane on January 20.
He sat out India's last two one-day matches in Perth including Tuesday's four-wicket win over Zimbabwe at the WACA Ground.
Kumble played in India's opening four matches of the tri-series, taking two wickets at an average of 95.5.
