Lakhs of Muslims offered the ?Alvida Ki Namaz? in different mosques of Allahabad on Friday. The largest gathering was seen at Jama Masjid Chowk, GT Road near the office of SP city. More than 50000 performed the last Friday of Ramzan prayer here. The GT road from Kotwali to Lok Nath crossing and its adjoining areas Tatheri Bazar, Subzi Mandi, Bajaja Patti, Lal Diggi, Clock Tower, Fruit Market and Mohd Ali Park etc were packed to capacity.

More than 50000 performed the last Friday of Ramzan prayer here. The GT road from Kotwali to Lok Nath crossing and its adjoining areas Tatheri Bazar, Subzi Mandi, Bajaja Patti, Lal Diggi, Clock Tower, Fruit Market and Mohd Ali Park etc were packed to capacity. Shahar Qazi Maulana Qari Maqbool Husain Habibi led the prayer here. In his Khutba, he prayed for the welfare of the country and mass assembled there. He appealed to maintain peace.

Addressing the devotees in his annual sermon (Khutba) at Shia Jama masjid Chak, Zero Road, Maulana Syed Hasan Raza Zaidi said that foreign intruders, now a days, are unsuccessfully trying to disturb the peace and communal harmony of the other country including India, Iraq and Iran.

The respective governments were asked to teach a lesson to these vested interest people. Muslims are living in India for centuries and they are the part and parcel of the Indian soil. None is allowed to give the certificate of patriotism to us.

Imam Juma O Jammat,Shia Jama Masjid Chak, Zero Road, Maulana Hasan Raza was leading the last Friday of Ramzan prayer at the same venue. The estimated crowd of 20000 and odd Shias cheered the religious priest through the slogans of Salwaat and Narae Haidari. After filling the Shia mosque, the crowd spread on Zero Road from Bus stop in the West to Bagga petrol pump in the east.

Maulana Raza also throw light on local, state and national issues other than religious and spiritual teachings. He supported the adult and women education and drive to eradicate the polio.

Earlier, the Azan was held at 11.50 am Khutba started at 12 noon and special prayer from 12.45 pm to 1.30 pm. The devotees were in their best attires and later dispersed peacefully.

The police and Nagar Nigam has made the elaborate arrangement. Pickets were seen at each strategic entry and exist points. Traffic restrictions were observed. Water tankers and special equipments for 'wazoo' (Aritual before Namaz done by clean water) were arranged by Nagar Nigam authorities.
