Lalu says he will perform Chhat Puja in Mumbai
"If possible, I will go to Mumbai to perform Chhat Puja," Railway Minister Lalu Prasad said on Thursday.
Prasad, who was here to address the 'Chetna' rally organised by his party - the RJD, made the comment when he was asked by newspersons about the alleged anti-north India statements by leaders of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).
Condemning the provocative 'unconstitutional' statements of MNS leader Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray, Prasad said people of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand staying in Mumbai were afraid of venturing out of their homes.
There were also reports of misbehaviour with a woman on a train, he said adding the Mumbai Police Commissioner had spoken to him on phone.
Prasad said he had spoken to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi on the issue.
"A vase does not look beautiful with one rose, it requires a bunch of different flowers. The country is just like a vase," he said, adding he would would work for the unity of the country.
"There is no place for those people spreading disharmony and hurting the social fabric," he added.
