Land bill fight is to protect farmers’ dignity, future: Rahul Gandhi

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi struck the pro-poor pitch to turn the heat on the NDA government on Sunday, saying the Congress’ fight against a controversial land bill was aimed at protecting the ‘dignity and future’ of India’s farmers.

“This is not a fight for farms, not a fight for land but this is a battle for farmers’ hearts,” Gandhi said

The Congress leader was speaking at a ‘Kisan Mazdoor Samman Rally’ at the Ramlila Ground in Delhi to greet farmers and party workers for “forcing” the Narendra Modi government to withdraw the “draconian” land ordinance.
