Landmine defused near Indo-Pak border, arms cache recovered

Army on Saturday defused a landmine near Indo-Pak border in Kathua district, while a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered in Chatergula area here, police said.

Army on Saturday defused a landmine near Indo-Pak border in Kathua district, while a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered in Chatergula area here, police said.

Following information that a landmine was planted in a field, troops rushed to Karol Mathor village in Hiranagar belt of Kathua and defused the explosive.

A police official said a hideout was busted in Chatergula area in the Kathua-Doda border belt of Jammu region, and a cache of arms and ammunition, including two rocket launchers were recovered.

The cache also included one pistol, three AK magazines and 70 rounds. However, no one was arrested.
