According to Pricelle Fernando of Micro, the car (called micro 800) is already on sale in Lanka and could be priced under the crucial Rs 200,000 mark. However it is yet not compliant to Indian safety and emission norms, though the work is on that front too.
At a later date the company also plans to launch its MPV Junior, a Pininfarina designed van, made under license from Hafei in China. This van will be squarely positioned against the Maruti Omni in price and size. The company already relies on Indian imports for a number of crucial components of the car, but the four-cylinder engine for both the cars is sourced from china.
