The truce monitors in Sri Lanka have suspended their work for a few days due to an assessment of the risk involved following the LTTE's attacks on vessels with monitors on board on May 11.

"We are assessing the risk situation and talking to the personnel who had had a bad experience. But this is only a short break. We will be back at work in a few days," a spokesman of the Scandinavian-staffed Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) said.
