The Border Committee officials who met on Tuesday in this Lao capital discussed proposals for upgrading the international checkpoints along the borders of the two countries.
The checkpoints are scheduled to be operational from November this year.
Both sides have also agreed to establish a joint team to survey transportation on waterways from China via the Mekong River between the two countries.
Laos and Myanmer have recently reached an agreement to improve transportation of passengers and freight by waterways along the Mekong river.
