On Tuesday, the war horse brimmed with confidence. "We will win with twothird majority, if not more. We will form the government in West Bengal."

The ardour has not dimmed. He is still on the campaign trail, braving the rough and tumble of electoral politics. "I am at the fag end of my life. I want to see the seventh LF government here as well as the LDF in Kerala," he said.

Any regrets? Yes. "We are not expanding. Not only the party, even organisations are getting stunted. The GenNext should do something about it."
