Learn loo manners, please!

I think it is high time that TV channels (mainly DD) in India did something to educate people in India about good toilet manners and cleanliness. Even so-called educated people think that just splashing a lot of water in a toilet or bathroom is cleanliness. The so-called "suachchalayas" are not properly maintained. While the emphasis is on AIDS prevention, which is as it should be, has anybody heard how much damage "water borne" diseases can do? Skin infections are passed on due to wet toilet seats, wet toilet handles, etc.

While the emphasis is on AIDS prevention, which is as it should be, has anybody heard how much damage "water borne" diseases can do? Even skin infections are passed on due to wet toilet seats, wet toilet handles, etc.

All the hype about how India is growing up into a modern nation is zilch if people don't learn this basic knowledge.

People should be taught to spare a thought for the next person who will use the toilet or bathroom. Is water scarcity the real problem or is it that you just don't care for anyone except yourself?

What people should understand is that the more they neglect proper behaviour, the more dirty toilets they can expect to see.
